Florida’s vote-by-mail rules have
changed. As of January 1, 2025 over
1.2 million Florida Democrats (and
over 95,000 in Pinellas!) were no
longer signed up to get a mail ballot in
2026. These are some of our most
reliable voters – and unless we reach
them, many could be left behind. Your
quick, helpful conversations
will make a real difference.
Join us in-person for a training and
then phonebank with us. Whether
you are brand NEW to calling voters
or you are EXPERIENCED and it’s
been a while since you made calls, we
want to provide you support, the latest
information, and some fun too!
And once you are trained and ready to
go, you can make calls whenever it
works for you from the comfort of
your home – anytime between 9AM –
8PM Monday – Saturday, and
11AM – 7PM on Sundays!
Sunday – May 24 – 3:30 to 6:00 pm
And every Sunday!
3:30 – Sign waving protest
5:00 – Interfaith Freedom Vigil
Pinellas County Justice Center
14250 49 St N in Clearwater
Join the Florida Interfaith Coalition
and allies for a Freedom Vigil as we
stand in solidarity with immigrant
families and demand an end to the
detention and deportation of our
nonviolent, law-abiding immigrant
community neighbors, siblings, and
friends. Around the state, including
the Everglades, people gather at the
same time each week outside local
jails and detention centers, where
immigrants await transfer and
deportation. We believe that our
immigrant neighbors should not be
held at these jails. It diverts resources
from our local budgets to separate
families and disappear people with no
due process. We pray for family
reunification and justice for all
immigrants. Together, we affirm that
justice, compassion, and the rule of
law must apply to everyone—
regardless of immigration status.
Mass deportation policies don’t just
tear families apart; they set a
dangerous precedent that threatens
the constitutional rights of all
Americans. When due process is
denied to one group, the foundation of
democracy itself is weakened. By
coming together in public prayer,
witness, and solidarity, we send a
clear message: Our communities
believe in fairness, dignity, and
accountability. This is a peaceful,
family-friendly event featuring
interfaith clergy, moments of
reflection, and opportunities
to take action.
And please bring a donation to help
our neighbors in need: maseca (masa
flour), corn husks, rice (1 lb bag),
vegetable oil, corn tostadas, dried
lentils (1 lb bag), dried red beans (1 lb
bag), and pickled/canned jalapeños.
Monetary donations are the most
direct and helpful support because
they allow flexibility in meeting
urgent needs and providing fresh
foods. You may donate here.

Indivisible FL-13 St Pete Area will
hold its next monthly group meeting
on Thursday, May 28 at 7pm in person
at Allendale United Methodist Church
in the main sanctuary.
We will be discussing our recent
events, begin planning future events
and discussing strategies for moving
forward under the current
administration and welcoming new
participants and organizers.
Also there will be a presentation by
the League of Woman Voters’
committee advocating for the
adoption of the National Popular Vote
Interstate Compact (NPVIC) in Florida.
The NPVIC is a mechanism that
would ensure the U.S. President is
elected by the national popular vote
without requiring a constitutional
amendment or an act of Congress. The
compact takes effect once states
totaling 270 electoral votes join.
Currently, 20 jurisdictions
representing 222 electoral votes have
signed on, including Virginia
as of last month.
Join us to hear how this agreement
could finally topple our nation’s
bizarre system that hands a few
narrowly divided states the privilege
to choose our presidents.
Additional information regarding the
program will be updated as meeting
plans take shape. If you would like to
present at our meeting please email
info@indivisiblefl13.com for our
consideration.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office
10750 Ulmerton Rd in Largo
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s
Department has trained 47 deputies to
work with ICE, and 36 have
been trained as Warrant Officers.
Since the beginning of the crackdown
on immigration, which began in
January 2025, immigrants in Pinellas
have been arrested and taken to the
Pinellas County jail where they wait to
be picked up by ICE and taken to a
detention center. There are substantial
reports of human rights violations in
those detention centers. At least 70%
of those arrested have
committed no crime.
They are refugees who
have been denied due process, a
constitutional right guaranteed to all
persons within the United States,
including non-citizens.
We demand our sheriff and other
public servants end their agreement to
work with ICE. Per the sheriff’s
department public affairs office, they
have received no money from the
federal government to compensate them.
We say No to ICE in Pinellas County.
End the 287(g) agreement.
Close the Detention Centers.
No Warehouse Detention Centers.

Some of the most meaningful
connections we have aren’t just to
each other—they’re to the stories that
shaped us. That’s why I’m so excited
to host an evening with Jeff Kinney,
the author behind Diary of a Wimpy Kid,
for a generation that literally grew up
turning those pages—and now has the
power to turn the page in our democracy.
This will be a fun, laid-back night
where we bring people together for a
live conversation between Jeff and me
about creativity, education, and what
it means to grow up and find your
voice. We’ll have games inspired by
the humor and spirit of the world-
famous books, a chance to meet Jeff

matters now more than ever.
This campaign is about meeting
people where they are, building
community, and making civic

joyful. If you grew up with these
stories, this night is for you—not just
