Virtual – watch from anywhere
On June 14, the Committee for the
First Amendment will be hosting Rise
Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First
Amendment, an uplifting evening of
song, solidarity, and action. Featuring
an all-star line-up of performers, this
90-minute concert event will celebrate
the freedoms guaranteed by our First
Amendment—of speech, religion,
press, assembly, and protest—and the
people power that both fuels these
rights and is essential to guarantee them.
Even as authoritarians increase their
attacks on our freedoms and
communities, we see examples across
the country of people rising up
together, taking action, and turning
back those forces.
The event will be streamed with watch
parties all across the country—so
wherever you are, you can sing along,
find inspiration in the performances,
build community, and take
meaningful action together.

Virtual training – join from anywhere
It is not a question of whether those in
power will try to steal the elections;
the recent Callais decision makes clear
that authoritarians are already doing
everything they can to grab power and
keep us from voting. Our task is clear.
Fight, win, prove, and enforce free and
fair elections. With that in mind,
Freedom Trainers has revamped
its Noncooperation 101 Training,
to emphasize a focus on
election protection and preparedness.
Join us for a 2-hour virtual training on
civil resistance and noncooperation.
We will cover the authoritarian threat,
how to defeat it, and especially focus
on countering the all-out assault on
our elections and freedom to vote at a
scale matching the severity of the
threat. Participants will leave with
concrete steps for taking action.

Tuesday – June 16 – 9:00 to 11:00 am
2001 Siesta Dr in Sarasota
Join us for our weekly rally in Sarasota
to resist fascism, get ICE off our
streets, and support Social Security.
Meet like-minded people who are
standing up for our rights. Help save
the Social Security we paid for and our
families are paying for.
No Trump “ICE GOONS”
in Sarasota schools!
No concentration camps!
No kidnapping of innocent people!
This is a local, Sarasota-based,
grassroots rally by Indivisible
Sarasota. WE ARE SEEN BY 2,500-
3,000 VEHICLES EACH WEEK! We
meet outside the Social Security office,
at the intersection of Siesta Drive and
South Tamiami Trail. The big sign
there is for the restaurant, Flemings.
The rally is in the shade and during
morning rush hour, so it will be
relatively cool but with a lot of
visibility. Parking is right across Siesta
Drive in the empty shopping mall
parking lot. By persisting week after
week, we are showing the people of
Sarasota that we are in this for the
long term and will persevere as long as
necessary. Expect lots of supportive
honking of horns.
Bring your own sign about Social
Security or any other topic related to
the resistance against the MAGA
attack on our democracy. See you there!
