doors to talk to Democrats.
No experience is necessary. Just bring
comfortable shoes, water, sunscreen
and a willingness to help. We will
provide training, walk lists, and full
support before heading out.
Our goal is to engage Democratic
voters, educate them about upcoming
elections, and highlight the power of
voting by mail. Many voters don’t
realize how important it is to sign up,
which is why these conversations at
the door are so critical to boosting
turnout in both the primary
and general elections.
Every knock helps make sure
Democrats vote. Let’s get it done.

5:00 – Interfaith Freedom Vigil
Pinellas County Justice Center
14250 49 St N in Clearwater
Join the Florida Interfaith Coalition
and allies for a Freedom Vigil as we
stand in solidarity with immigrant
families and demand an end to the
detention and deportation of our
nonviolent, law-abiding immigrant
community neighbors, siblings, and
friends. Around the state, including
the Everglades, people gather at the
same time each week outside local
jails and detention centers, where
immigrants await transfer and
deportation. We believe that our
immigrant neighbors should not be
held at these jails. It diverts resources
from our local budgets to separate
families and disappear people with no
due process. We pray for family
reunification and justice for all
immigrants. Together, we affirm that
justice, compassion, and the rule of
law must apply to everyone—
regardless of immigration status.
Mass deportation policies don’t just
tear families apart; they set a
dangerous precedent that threatens
the constitutional rights of all
Americans. When due process is
denied to one group, the foundation of
democracy itself is weakened. By
coming together in public prayer,
witness, and solidarity, we send a
clear message: Our communities
believe in fairness, dignity, and
accountability. This is a peaceful,
family-friendly event featuring
interfaith clergy, moments of
reflection, and opportunities
to take action.
And please bring a donation to help
our neighbors in need: maseca (masa
flour), corn husks, rice (1 lb bag),
vegetable oil, corn tostadas, dried
lentils (1 lb bag), dried red beans (1 lb
bag), and pickled/canned jalapeños.
Monetary donations are the most
direct and helpful support because
they allow flexibility in meeting
urgent needs and providing fresh
foods. You may donate here.

On June 14, the Committee for the
First Amendment will be hosting Rise
Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First
Amendment, an uplifting evening of
song, solidarity, and action. Featuring
an all-star line-up of performers, this
90-minute concert event will celebrate
the freedoms guaranteed by our First
Amendment—of speech, religion,
press, assembly, and protest—and the
people power that both fuels these
rights and is essential to guarantee them.
Even as authoritarians increase their
attacks on our freedoms and
communities, we see examples across
the country of people rising up
together, taking action, and turning
back those forces.
The event will be streamed with watch
parties all across the country—so
wherever you are, you can sing along,
find inspiration in the performances,
build community, and take
meaningful action together.

It is not a question of whether those in
power will try to steal the elections;
the recent Callais decision makes clear
that authoritarians are already doing
everything they can to grab power and
keep us from voting. Our task is clear.
Fight, win, prove, and enforce free and
fair elections. With that in mind,

its Noncooperation 101 Training,
to emphasize a focus on
election protection and preparedness.
Join us for a 2-hour virtual training on
civil resistance and noncooperation.
We will cover the authoritarian threat,
how to defeat it, and especially focus
on countering the all-out assault on
our elections and freedom to vote at a
scale matching the severity of the
threat. Participants will leave with
concrete steps for taking action.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office
10750 Ulmerton Rd in Largo
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s
Department has trained 47 deputies to
work with ICE, and 36 have
been trained as Warrant Officers.
Since the beginning of the crackdown
on immigration, which began in
January 2025, immigrants in Pinellas
have been arrested and taken to the
Pinellas County jail where they wait to
be picked up by ICE and taken to a
detention center. There are substantial
reports of human rights violations in
those detention centers. At least 70%
of those arrested have
committed no crime.
They are refugees who
have been denied due process, a
constitutional right guaranteed to all
persons within the United States,
including non-citizens.
We demand our sheriff and other
public servants end their agreement to
work with ICE. Per the sheriff’s
department public affairs office, they
have received no money from the
federal government to compensate them.
We say No to ICE in Pinellas County.
End the 287(g) agreement.
Close the Detention Centers.

People Power for Florida, genCLEO,
and Youth Action Fund are on a
mission to build a youth movement of
students and alumni from campuses
across the state that vote in every
single election and build a Democracy
that works for everyday people.
Not Billionaires.
When we engage with students on a
year-round basis on the issues that
matter to them, we can turn agony and
helplessness into real, meaningful
action and turn sporadic & inactive
voters into active voters and
disruptors. This is why we are starting
EARLY in 2026, knocking around
USFSP campus and making our case
for why NOW is the time
for students to rise up.
Never knocked doors before? No
worries! Our team will provide you
with all the training you need, as well
as pair you up with an experienced
canvasser, so you never have to
knock doors alone!
We will meet at Kahwa Coffee for a
quick training and material
distribution before we start the canvass.
Optional . . .
Join us for lunch on us after the event!

Voter Action Pinellas is a 100%
volunteer-powered organization
deeply rooted in the communities of
Pinellas County. Our strength comes
from the personal connections and
shared commitment of friends, family,
and neighbors working together.
Our success aligns with decades of
research consistently demonstrating
that relational organizing – using
personal connections to help
like-minded voters vote –
is the most effective
strategy for increasing voter turnout.
The address will be provided after sign-up.
Wednesday – June 24 – 6:30 to 8:30 pm
First United Methodist Church
of Pinellas Park
9025 49 St N in Pinellas Park
Join us at First United Methodist
Church of Pinellas Park for a
screening of Reading the World, a
documentary that revisits Paulo
Freire’s revolutionary 1960s “Culture
Circles” in Brazil. It shows how
literacy became a powerful tool for
social empowerment and political
awareness, while also revealing the
resistance these efforts faced during a
time of political unrest. The screening
will be followed by a
community discussion of the film.
This event is more than a screening—
it’s a space for vital dialogue, shared
empathy, and community connection.
Whether you are an educator, a
parent, or a concerned neighbor, your
voice and your perspective matter.

Thursday – June 25 – 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Allendale United Methodist Church
3803 Haines Rd N in St. Pete
Indivisible St Pete will hold its next
monthly group meeting on Thursday,
June 25 at 7pm in person at Allendale
United Methodist Church in the main
sanctuary. The meeting will also be
available on Zoom. The link is below.
We will be discussing our recent
events, begin planning future events
and discussing strategies for moving
forward under the current
administration and welcoming new
participants and organizers.
Also there will be a presentation by the
League of Woman Voters’ committee
advocating for the adoption of the
National Popular Vote Interstate
Compact (NPVIC) in Florida.
The NPVIC is a mechanism that would
ensure the U.S. President is elected by
the national popular vote without
requiring a constitutional amendment
or an act of Congress. The compact
takes effect once states totaling 270
electoral votes join. Currently, 20
jurisdictions representing 222
electoral votes have signed on,
including Virginia as of two months ago.
Join us to hear how this agreement
could finally topple our nation’s
bizarre system that hands a few
narrowly divided states the privilege
to choose our presidents.
Additional information regarding the
program will be updated as meeting
plans take shape. If you would like to
present at our meeting please email
info@indivisiblefl13.com
for our consideration.
Due to the nature of hybrid meetings
we cannot guarantee that people
attending via Zoom will be able to fully
participate. Therefore in-person
attendance is strongly encouraged.
